Episode 16

AI - First ai...d?

Published on: 14th April, 2023

AI for learning, self driving cars, can compare radiographs, play chess, social media, use it for podcasting and much more. This are specified AI. It can only do one thing.

Why are we scared, then, when we have already used it for several decades and for so many different things?

Carina and Martin continue their discussion about AI. Listen and read our ai-generated dialogue and the show notes and learn more.

Martin:

Welcome to Presentation Skills Q and A. I am Martin Lindesco.

Martin:

Hi Karina.

Carina:

Hi Martin.

Carina:

How are you today?

Martin:

I'm doing fine.

Martin:

Yourself?

Carina:

Yes, I'm doing fine.

Carina:

It's April and it's April weather.

Martin:

Yes, with snow.

Martin:

So as you say in New England, if you don't

Martin:

like the weather, wait a minute.

Martin:

So hopefully we will spring forward.

Martin:

So when we record this, it's also holiday season, you could say.

Martin:

Yes, but we wanted to record anyway to have our schedule.

Martin:

So this could be one thing that you could use technology for.

Martin:

Do something during the holidays and still keep going.

Carina:

Exactly. And I like that.

Carina:

I really like that.

Carina:

The technique should be ours.

Carina:

We shall make the technique to be the best

Carina:

hour of ourselves and use it the best way, I think.

Martin:

Yeah, you had a thing that we will include in show notes, but we hope we find

Martin:

some internationals, but they could translate and see how that works with the tools.

Martin:

But there was an article about you could say homework and studies and how you could use

Martin:

this technology to have an extra teacher or a tutor or something like that, like help for

Martin:

things.

Martin:

So I see it like that.

Martin:

And then we see other things also that we are already using it.

Martin:

And you have done some research on that and been thinking and pondering about that.

Carina:

Yes, our last episodes we have talked about AI and you and I have talked about how

Carina:

much or yes, how much we really use it.

Carina:

We are a bit scared.

Carina:

Many people are a little bit scared of AI, but we already use it.

Carina:

You use it when you search on Google, for example, when you've been on social media like

Carina:

Instagram and Facebook and LinkedIn and so on.

Carina:

And also when you choose a movie at, for

Carina:

example, Netflix and such things.

Martin:

Yeah, that's the algorithm.

Martin:

And in a way now something for future.

Martin:

But I had an interesting talk yesterday with Sam SETI of Pod fans.

Martin:

So we'll talk more about also the process and the production, you could say, and also the

Martin:

work with the podcast and see what we could do with that.

Martin:

And that Pod fans that will be very interesting for our listeners, for ourselves

Martin:

and for our fellow podcasters out there.

Martin:

And there they're using this positive

Martin:

algorithm.

Martin:

Also how you could find new podcast clips and

Martin:

other things like that.

Carina:

There are very many positive things about AI.

Carina:

It's about self driving cars and you can compare, for example, radiographs and things.

Martin:

And also here with our podcast.

Martin:

Now you could say Note to self.

Martin:

But also for your information, we are using this transcript service that we are using with

Martin:

my editing and post production tool, Olitu.

Martin:

It's still working and they will develop it.

Martin:

So it's interesting to see how that could be helped.

Martin:

So we are interesting to get feedback on that.

Martin:

But it's also in process and in progress.

Martin:

And lately it has been a bit between the tool and the host also.

Martin:

But things could happen and they could change.

Martin:

But please look at the show notes and the

Martin:

transcript and see what you're thinking about that.

Carina:

Yes, and the listeners, they could learn many things from our show notes because

Carina:

they listen and then they can take the articles and read them.

Carina:

So you get new influences when you listen to podcasts and look at their show notes.

Martin:

Yeah and also impressions like what you have done nicely with images and chapters

Martin:

like visual things.

Martin:

So it's interesting how we could develop this.

Martin:

And I'm for technology, I'm a technocrat in a way, but I'm also critical if it's falling in

Martin:

the wrong hands, so to speak.

Martin:

But I was at, you could say a guinea pig or

Martin:

test person for a course in this field by MN and I will include her profile in the LinkedIn

Martin:

and there it was an interesting thing and that was like a big pizza chain.

Martin:

And if it was Domino's or if it was Pizza Hut or something like that.

Martin:

The biggest assets now was the data collection about the orders and what people wanted to

Martin:

have the toppings on the pizza.

Martin:

And that was so fascinating to learn.

Martin:

That restaurant chain franchise thing had so much data that they could use for other things

Martin:

and also make good pizza hopefully.

Carina:

Yeah, that's interesting, really interesting.

Carina:

There are so many things to talk about when it becomes to this AI field and we have a podcast

Carina:

which is short and sweet, should I say.

Carina:

So we have to continue this process because

Carina:

you and I, we are often talking about that the human being should take the technique and use

Carina:

it the best way and not the opposite way.

Martin:

Yeah so I will probably take a bit of time here during the holidays and play around

Martin:

with it and maybe get some guidance from you also and we could see what the result will be

Martin:

to do some fun things.

Martin:

We'd ask the chat thing there and other

Martin:

services and see what's coming out.

Carina:

Regarding podcasting and the interesting thing about AI and this topic we

Carina:

are talking about that it's, it's not new now when we are talking about it, it feels like

Carina:

it's new but it isn't.

Carina:

So I think we shall continue this and I would

Carina:

like to hear some questions from our listeners if they want to discuss something or ask

Carina:

something.

Martin:

Yeah, they could send a question to the robot and see what comes up.

Martin:

Exactly or contact us.

Carina:

Really thanks but nice to talking to you today.

Martin:

Likewise.

Carina:

Yeah and I am going for a little bit of holiday now.

Martin:

Yeah, same here.

Martin:

So cheerio and talk to you soon again.
